Australian recipes information continued Burrawong Bread
2 Cups wholemeal flour 1 heaped tablespoon burrawong flour 1 teaspoon baking powder 1/2 teaspoon bread improver Water or milk Sift dry ingredients together twice. Adding water,knead into a dough and place it into a prepared bread tin. Dust the top with extra wholemeal flour and bake at 180c for 30 minutes or untill it sounds hollow when tapped. For bogong moth toasts recipe, once the loaf is cool, remove the crusts from several slices. Toast the slices then cut each into 2 or 3 fingers. Ref: Uniquely Australian Vic Cherikoff
How To Eat Vegemite Using your favorite bread (could be Burrawong bread), some butter or margarine, and of course, Vegemite. Spread butter on a piece of toast or bread. Cover very thinly with Vegemite (for the optimum Vegemite sandwich you only need a dab). Dip your knife in the Vegemite, and scrape up just a bit (it will mix right in with the butter and spread easily). Some people like to "marble" the Vegemite into the butter.
